Sometimes, despite our best efforts to be stalwart, true, and virtuous, we're temped to shirk our responsibilities and take the easy way out.
The seven of swords portends that today will be such a day. Around every corner, we'll be tempted to take our toys and go home, or at least to sneak off and not do what we said we'd do. We won't necessarily want to do what we have to do but what we want to do will be oh so seductive. And sometimes, you need a day to just blow everything off and take off to the movies, or for a hike, or a long and dare I say it, decadent lunch. If that's the case for you today, I say, weigh your options.
Is today a good day to blow off some steam? Can you get away with it or will you be paying the piper for a good, long time if you splurge?
I know, I know that part of the fun of being decadent is throwing caution to the winds. And if you can truly do that and not feel remorse later, then I say go for it! If, on the other hand, you know you'll pay the price and need to be sure it's worth the cost, then do weigh your options. If you can afford to shirk your responsibilities and go play, then do it. It's worth it and you will feel better for it.
We all need that reckless abandon every once in a while. The key is to make sure we aren't so reckless with our abandon that we get our butts kicked by it later.
